Hello all,
Wow that was one helluva long hiatus, my livejournal homepage tells me I last updated fifteen, yes FIFTEEN! weeks ago hahah I'm not quite sure what prompted this definitely not very expected update- mm maybe it's cause it's the new year again so that in itself deserves a post while I attempt some contemplation :)
Why, much has changed, I don't suppose that is much of an update cause things always change anyway. There have been good changes, some not so good ones, some just.. well, changes. I've hit the big 2-0, they say how you age like crazy once you do but ayee I'm actually kinda looking forward to it cause I've been happy (translation: you make me really happy and maybe it's forever! teehee)
So in May- I had an amazing birthday, it was full of happy surprises which I've always loved :) It was a whole yummy sweet combination of feeling blessed and loved and lucky and blessed and loved... you get the idea :) Summer was well... interesting to say the least, much happened- spent a long time in a place so foreign and different in culture and lifestyle and had a great, great time. Loved the kids there, they're so different from our kids here. You wouldn't imagine how incredibly independent and hospitable those little ones are.
Oh and of course, there was the episode of Aussie Adventures- we stayed at S's which I had mixed feelings about- yknow it's like you don't know what to expect cause so long has passed and you get this slightly nervous slash excited feeling which you want away cause there really isn't much reason for you to feel like that? Well anyhow, I had a wonderful time there, he was an awesome host, driving us here and there (albeit bloody recklessly!) bringing us to see all the lovely places. Weather was fabulous, and I brought a heart back. Looking back, the whole episode seems a bit hazy and too.. fast, too.. furious. That remains a sweet memory and story ends there. Baby Matts popped out while I was down under, omg I remember squealing and laughing and getting so damn excited when we were walking across to the casino when I received that call. Hahah
The first day of August, why that was a special special SPECIAAAL day. Yknow how love stories usually start romantically but this romance started in nowhere but Geylang, which I don't suppose is your typical definition of romantic hahah, where we shared a first peck surrounded by a congregation of horny old men checking scantily clad China chicks out and one too many sleazy hotels. But things have been so so amazing since. :)
Created some lovely memories throughout the five months after- Hongkong was quite a milestone, so was the Malaysia road trip, Zoukout was so surprisingly incredible ;), no actually post-Zoukout was heaps better, the 14th was your birthday surprise, Christmas and its eve were awesome, and the countdown to the new year was heart-pumpingly exciting. :) Felt on top of the world, literally, and I hope the haunted tree stays for another fifty years so the wish would come true. ;)
Tons of pictures to illustrate but let's leave that for another time. :)

Surprise!
Felt compelled to make this rare update 'cause I feel immensely absolutely tremendouslyyyy excited bout SUMMER PLANS! After I-don't-even-wanna-count months of not sitting in an airplane, yours truly the country bumpkin is going to Melby and Sydney from the 12th- 21st May , back just in time for my 2-0 :)), then jetting off to highly glamourous China and Hongkong hahah from the 2nd- 20th June. Then after which, it's all the camps planning and events organizing for PAW and Bondue.
Anyhow, Friday marks the end of the school term, how cliche, but yes HOW TIME FLIES. I've had my share of exciting, satisfying, and boring uneventful periods thus far, but more happy times in Aussieland and Chingchongland soooon. To top it off, Jia and Sal will be in Aus too so doubleyayyy. I'm not sure if we'll be able to meet, but at least we'll be breathing the same cold air in the same continent hahaha I'm most excited to say bye to Singapore's stifling heat and lousy air-conditioning relief AWESOMENESSSSS I just hope Steph and I won't get too bullied by those two mean people. Hahah [TLC payable okay Marc, don't forget]
Okay omggg I just took a cursory glance at my TWC folder and realized there's an intimidating number of articles to read, I didn't realize there was so many! RAWR. Very discomforting, I better go back to my readings.

Eating barbequed marsh mellows and brownies, And maybe even subway cookies. Down it all with milk chocolate, That’s the best menu I’ve ever heard. Then we could go running on the beach with Leo, After of course, reading the latest issue of Cleo. Nighttime could be spent stargazing, And I’ll hold you till you’re sleeping. But if the weather isn’t that sunny, And the sky looks very gloomy. We could go to my place, And I’d still be able to put a smile on your face. By spending the rainy day indoors, Just lying on my room floor. Watching cartoons or just doodling, And ugh, even sewing. But before that we have to mug, Then we’ll spend the rest of the day exchanging hugs. Anyway, I hope you like this poem, Just think of it as a token. I haven't had the time to do much updating cause I've been so very busy! Been having camps and going on a cruise back to back so I'm real glad to be back within my comfort zone. Yay I love my soft bed and fluffy pillows and my clean toilet :) The camps have all been thoroughly enjoyable albeit a bit exhausting. But it's been awesome making new friends and running (literally) all over our little island playing games! Everyone's wonderful in their different ways and I'm getting quite psyched up for school even though the start of it is only in bout a month! :)

Yesterday was sucha fab day cause we had absolutely NOTHING to do at work, so we played games and went out to Adam Food Centre for lunch, and the highlight of the day was the dirtiest (dirty-dirty not that kinda dirty la) party held at my house after work but it was still heaps of FUN and fulla stupid jokes and funny games and a hell lot of fooddd! We were completely stuffed; I think I ate enough for 3 days. Hahah we were comparing how pregnant we looked which was so hilarious, Mine was 3 weeks HAHA
Anyways talking bout pregnancy, MY DEAR SISTER IS EXPECTING! I don't know why it seems like I'm the most excited in the family but what the heck, babies are cute and fun to fuss over and I'll be having my first niece/nephew. But I'll teach him/her to call me JIE JIE, no Aunty Michelle prease, so stop calling me that, Yuza!! Haha

Inspired by bakebakebake, I started baking A LOT again recently and it has been tons of funnnnn! From apple flan to brownies for Father's Day to the latest:
Moist chocolate cake, with the richest darkest yummiest chocolate frosting but doesn't really look it ohwell
Hokay so anyway I'll be in SMU Business, yay :) But I haven't found many who're going there too, please tell me if you are, or if you know of people who are! I can't wait for the camps and school to start! Oh and work has been loaaaads of good fun most of the days, especially when we get to spot deejays and actors and actresses. Just to name a few, we saw Shan Wee yesterday who's insanely tall and elongated, like a skinny giant, Nick Shen & Carrie Chong. The colleagues are a bunch of crazy fun people and my boss is zee coolest; we play Pictionary and Hang Man and Bingo when we're bored, that's how nice my working environment is :) It feels almost like school cause we're all about the same age and we look forward to tea breaks and lunch breaks and 6 o clock like how we anticipate breaks between lectures. Hhaha we even have funny (but mean :/) gossip sessions bout a certain someone lol
Last weekend was a rather.. special one, lots of couple-time and family-time which were both good and very needed :)
Can't wait for our little BBQparty thingum coming Fri!

Work has been awesome, and my Friday night was the BEST cause of the 3 lovely girls above. (Lia adorable as always, Bernie as sweet as ever, and Fi the caring & smily one) <3 Thanks for trying to surprise me with the balloon with the cutest msg on it (I still don't know how you guys hid it!) & for the present (Credits to dearest Bernie who wrapped so many layers! :)))) ) which I love!!!!! I had tonnes of fun getting random people to take our (silly) photos haha and my cheeks ache from all the laughing and grinning! Thank you thank you thank you, you IJ girls are zee best-est! :D As I said, y'all made my day! Cookies/cakes/brownies/scones for you darlings soon!! Hahah <3 Can't wait for our Loo family dim sum date! :)

The SMU interview was yesterday, which I've complained sufficiently bout, cause for some reason or another, I was a bundle of nerves and it felt like everyone was rushing for a chance to verbalize their opinions. Plusssss I chose an embarrassingly bimbotic essay topic : Describe your fave shopping centre. Hahaha, yes, zomg, I hope I didn't just blow my chances of getting in. Though admittedly, my group was a whooole lot nicer than expected; there were a few really friendly people, one of whom thought I was a dancer, another thought I took ballet, and to both I replied : Haha no way I cant dance for nuts :)
So anyways after free B&Js (!) with two others & walking around with new ex-RJ friend, I went to a spa (which was no fun at all, trust me) to kill time, taitai wannabe-style! Hahha then met Cali for some good old shopping. Yesterday our definition of shopping was trying loads of not very affordable dresses/tunics/cutesy jumpers, lol. I'll hate shoppers like us if I were a salesperson! Then Liz joined us and we spent the rest of the night talking, indulging in reminiscence and looking at Cali tuck into her baked rice. :) Talked bout how Liz's parents get more thrilled than her at the idea of her getting a boyf, which is damn cute. Now I wished mine had one-eighth of their excitement. Haha
Then, I dreamt the whole night and woke up more tired than when I slept. This always happens! :/
Ran from home to Thomson P today, which according to the pedometer, was close to 6km, yay! But yeah I binged on Nutella (YUMMMM HOW TO RESIST RIGHT!) after so ): hahaha I thought of how I used to run every morning in school, and how my stamina is pathetic now. Shall will myself to run 6km every evening! (Liz's mom = my inspiration heheh)
Ah and yes, I miss you, a lot more than I thought I would. Looking forward to SATURDAY! :)

I had the loveliest weekend; I think I'm falling all over again, and it feels nothing short of fantastic. :) It's unlike me to post entries so explicit, but we may have a future after all so why not :). 1. Recently, I've been standing up and doing funny yoga poses and stretches whenever I watch tv. Yes, sometimes I balance on one leg like this:  for an hour. Hahaha like a flamingo watching Nickelodeon.
2. I dance around my room, with the doors locked and curtains drawn, to the radio every time after a shower. LOL SHH.
3. I am allergic to GOLD. Seriously. Had to take a patch test recently and I showed an EXTREME POSITIVE RXN. vad dur hell, so sad! My first thought was : omg plastic wedding ring @#$^ ): ): ):
4. I only use my left ear when I'm on the phone. Maybe it's psychological (lazy ear?), but my right one's like half-deaf- I NEVER use it.
5. I can curl my lashes into my eyelids and It's as good as expensive eyelash curlers cause they stay curled for awhile. Hahah saaaave money
6. I hate window seats, be it on the plane, in the bus, whatever. I start getting very irritable and fidgety- I think I'm claustrophobic.

    It took an unusually long while to fall asleep last night, and when I did, it was with a mixture of annoyance, uneasiness and unfamiliarity and I woke up with the same concoction of feelings. Couldn’t lift my lethargic self up for church this morning, much to my parents’ displease. I just woke up, fiddled around with my phone, feeling all groggy maybe cause of all the awful eye-bags-causing late nights. It’s not the first time having to go through a period like this, but it still needs some (a lot of) getting used to nonetheless.
Yesterday was half spent in front of this square thing furiously jabbing my fingers at the keyboard, and the other half spent shopping around town and meeting up with them bowlers for No.23, which has a brrrrilliant twist albeit a bit bloody and disturbing. Yknow, I wonder what’d it be like if I lost my memory? I can’t imagine how devastating it’ll be- there are too many things, even some of the not so nice things, I wanna remember till I grow old so I can tell my 20 grandchildren. Hahah Last night was nice, cause they’re all so chillaxed and happy and untroubled and it’s infectious.. and timely.
 
Damn funny. :) Us pretending to take peeeektures but we were really trying to take a shot of that cute balding man in the NO.23 jersey HEHEHAHA till we scared the poor fella off (ref to second picture) rofl

I'm so sorry cali ): but we all know I use a funny browser so I had to change everything back to its (somewhat) original form so I can view the blog. Hahaha but I've saved your omg-eight pages of hard work so maybe we could edit edit edit next time and we could possibly use it again :D
I am starting to prefer this to blogspot cause I can add people and comment on friends' LJs without having to prove I'm notta spam robot, yay! I spent like an hour or something trying to come up with a nice username, and my creative juices produced the silliest/ most outofpoint ones: pudgypenguin, panickypenguin, currypuff etcetc.
After the awful experience recently, I've become too distressed to arrange for another job interview. Okay I exaggerate haha but really I've decided I'll only go for interviews at places I am familiar with, no more trying to be a little brave explorer of zee unknown :)
This is bad cause I'm really enjoying the life of a sloth (I used to hate it) Now I spend most of my days like a retiree, I think my walking pace has s l o w e d d o w n too hahah yikes wth.
